Day Two AM

January 14, 2006. We had our breakfast at the hotel. A simple breakfast of fried rice and fried noodles and some juice. We didn't get to hang around the cafe, not that we wanted to anyway, since the taxi that we ordered had come 30 minutes earlier than expected.

Off we went to Mall Taman Anggrek or better known as MTA by the locals. It was only 9:30 am when we showed our faces at the main entrance and therefore, we were denied entry.
"Let me in!" I screamed in silence... To kill the time, we took some photos while I was wondering about some people going in and out of a side entrance. I pointed that to my Princess and it was true enough, we could get into the mall through that entrance. It was nice to be in, at last. They scanned your bags with the metal detector when entering the malls in Jakarta. What if I stashed a bomb in my [censored]? They never scanned me! Just a naughty thought though...

In the mall, Honeybunch told me that it was there. I asked her what was there. She pointed to an empty space where the mall directory was supposed to be. Instinctively, I led her to an electronic directory. She found the location her Vinnci or luxuriously known as so-that-the-price-is-bumped-up-by-100% VNC outlet. Then we searched for Starbucks and the very helpful electronic directory showed it to us. It was right there under our noses.

So we sat down at Starbucks. She got her cappuccino and that hard biscuit thingy that she really loves and I had a mug of chamomile tea and the almond chocolate twisted thingy. And we ate, we read, we took photos, we drank, we took photos, we read and then we were done. We were supposed to visit Daffy at the hospital, which was last night's plan, but Ika would only picked us up at 12 noon.

While waiting, we walked over to VNC and admired the price tags on the shoes and then walked around the electronics shops. Diah wanted to go for the ice skating but:
"Hello my dear, I am not a polar bear. A berry bear can't skate..." Ice skating was a no-no so the idea was scrapped.

Ika wanted us to get some pure guava juice for Daffy. We went to the juice kiosk and ordered the drink. The lady suggested that we add oranges or some other fruits to the guava since to get a glass of juice from just guavas would take a lot of guavas. Guava, guava, guava and we disagreed. Pulling a long face, the lady started juicing the guavas and it took 6 big guavas to get a glass of juice. Since the price was based on per glass rather than per fruit, it explained the you-took-all-my-guavas face.

Then we got the Texas chicken meal for Ika and waited for her at the entrance. The entrance that we were once denied entry. I just loved the swivelling door at the entrance! It was a warm afternoon. After a few trickling beads of sweat, Ika arrived and picked us up.
