I was laughing my some parts of my body off after reading Zaiha's a.k.a Boo's entry titled Today is NOT 25th!!!!. How could she make such a mistake? I was asking myself while trying to cure the laughing epidemic. Yes! I know it's not nice to be amused at someone else's predicament but I was simply tickled pink. Even though this bear is somewhat brownish in color. Well, I am supposed to continue with my stories in Jakarta but I have to write this one first.I woke up this morning all prepped up for a 9:30am meeting at a client's office. I timed myself so that I would be there about 5 or 10 minutes early. The traffic was not that bad this morning and by the time I got to the parking, it was only 9:15am.
Confidently, I walked up to the meeting area and was greeted by the ever smiling guardian of the meeting rooms. I went over to the designated room and I assumed that I was early. Wait a minute! It's already past 9:25am and these people were not known to be late for meetings. They are those meeting-holic breed or something and most of the time I would be the last to turn up.
9:30am. There was still no one else but me. I took a peek around the corner and the guardian of the meeting rooms saw me. She smiled. Doink! Then I remembered about Zaiha's entry above. Doink! I turned on my notebook and pretended that I was busy with something. So that if the guardian were to come over, she would not disturb me. I opened up my mail and look at the meeting arrangement. It said, Friday, 27th January 2006. Friday? Friday! Doink! That would be tomorrow! I checked my schedule on my handphone and it was marked on the 27th as well! "Holy Berries! What am I doing here?"
Macho-control mode ON! I must pretend that I was doing something for another minute or two. Then I shut down the notebook and coolly walked towards the exit. The guardian of the meeting rooms smiled. I must get out of there before my client caught me. That would not be acceptable. Once out, I sms-ed my Lilttle Lion and she replied: "Lhaa... Km ni... ... ... Cian sayang aku". I called Zaiha. We laughed! We agreed that both of us are normal people after all!
Thank God that no one that I know saw me. The guardian of the meeting rooms, the one that was ever smiling, would never remember me. I hope. Moral of the story: No matter what you do, Friday would always come after Thursday!
